BIPA Academy is a comprehensive training program designed to equip future and current BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing) educators with the essential skills, knowledge, and cultural understanding needed to teach Bahasa Indonesia to foreign learners effectively. This academy combines practical teaching strategies, interactive workshops, and personalized mentorship to develop professional, confident, and culturally sensitive BIPA teachers.

Enhance Pedagogical Skills
Strengthen participants’ ability to teach BIPA effectively to non-native speakers using proven language teaching principles.

Empower with Practical Tools
Introduce effective classroom strategies and integrate digital tools to create engaging and modern learning environments.

Promote Cultural Competence
Deepen cultural awareness and intercultural communication skills to support meaningful, respectful interactions with diverse learners.

Build a Supportive Community
Establish a strong network for aspiring and experienced BIPA educators to collaborate, share, and grow together professionally.

Key Components:
Foundations of BIPA Teaching
This component introduces participants to the core principles of teaching Bahasa Indonesia to non-native speakers. Educators will explore various learner profiles, understand the linguistic needs of diverse students, and learn how to design curricula based on CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) standards. It lays a solid pedagogical foundation for structured and goal-oriented teaching.
Teaching Methodology
Participants will develop practical skills in teaching the four main language competencies—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—through proven strategies and engaging activities. This component also covers effective assessment methods and how to give constructive feedback, enabling participants to track learner progress and support language acquisition in a measurable way.
Cultural Integration
Teaching a language means teaching its culture. In this component, participants will learn how to incorporate Indonesian cultural values, customs, and real-life contexts into their lessons. Through the use of media, traditional songs, folklore, and storytelling, educators will be equipped to make their lessons not only educational but also rich in cultural relevance.
Teaching Practicum & Feedback
This is the hands-on section of the academy, where participants will conduct microteaching sessions and practice delivering lessons in a supportive environment. They will receive real-time feedback from peers and experienced BIPA coaches, helping them refine their teaching style, build confidence, and apply theory to practice effectively.
Professional Development
In the final component, participants will focus on building their professional identity as BIPA educators. They will create teaching portfolios, learn how to document and showcase their competencies, and explore various career pathways within the growing field of international language education. This stage prepares participants to step into BIPA roles with professionalism and clarity.

Certificate
Participants will receive an official certificate from Indonesian Teacher Pro upon successful completion of the program and final teaching practicum.
